Position Specific Requirements:<br>
<br>
    * Support Atrium product development teams through the development process. Conduct and review activities in the areas of validation, quality control, risk management and product development to ensure continued compliance to standards and regulations and sound statistical methodologies. Support manufacturing by investigating process deviations and assisting in equipment qualification and process validation.<br>
    * Provide complete, accurate quality plans for each assigned project. This includes planning for product development, design and process changes, and additions to existing product lines. Maintain quality plans at all stages throughout product life.<br>
    * Implement validation activities using sound statistical principles and fully document them in compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable standards.<br>
    * Work with suppliers and contract agencies to provide documentation demonstrating that products and services meet the requirements of the Quality Management System and applicable standards.<br>
    * Analyze non-conforming conditions and material as necessary to implement corrective actions.<br>
    * Perform and analyze process capability studies, designed experiments and special studies necessary to support departmental efforts.<br>
    * Participate in cross functional design and development teams.<br>
    * Assist in meeting departmental goals, and in special projects as needed.<br>
<br>
Qualifications:<br>
<br>
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science. A minimum of one year related manufacturing experience in a QSR, medical device environment. Knowledge of Quality Assurance methods, such as process validation, design of experiments, statistical process control (SPC) and protocol/report preparation is mandatory. Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA requirements. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. High level of attention to detail.<br>

The Embedded Software Engineer will develop electronics instrumentation for the collection and transmission of meteorological data.  This role will include writing embedded firmware for a variety of electronic system design projects involving the evolution and development of microprocessor-based electronics systems. The scope of responsibility will include concept development, requirements definition and validation, analysis and detailed design, implementation, verification, and optimization in a lean environment.<br>

This is a full-time position in the engineering department and reports to the R&D Engineering Manager. This position will work in partnership with the engineering team to achieve goals of the department that are in line with the company strategic plan, and will embrace the high standards of NRG ethics and core values. <br>
<br>
Job Responsibilities<br>
Write and test embedded firmware for microcontrollers in C and assembly language. <br>
Help develop and continuously improve software development processes and tools.<br>
Support the product after release with bug fixes and new features.<br>
<br>
Projects may include elements of:<br>
Product idea innovation<br>
System architecture design and system specification generation<br>
Digital and analog circuit design<br>
Design of experiments, qualification testing, data collection and analysis<br>
Hands-on prototyping and field testing<br>
Supplier and customer interface<br>
Wind measurement science<br>

Qualifications<br>
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or computer science<br>
3 - 5 years experience in product design<br>
3 years minimum experience in embedded programming<br>
<br>
Technical Skills Required:<br>
A strong background developing in C for embedded microcontrollers<br>
Experience working on complex software systems using mature software engineering practices in a team environment<br>
Excellent written and oral communication skills<br>
Ability to read and understand an electrical schematic<br>
<br>
Technical Skills Preferred:<br>
Experience in circuit design, analysis and test<br>
Experience with a variety of communications hardware and protocols<br>
Embedded system test plan development and execution<br>
Experience with electromechanical systems and systems integration <br>
Experience in systems specification and analysis<br>
