We are in the heart of the Green Mountains between Killington and Stratton/Bromley. We have beautiful (spectacular!!) views off to the west and northwest (great sunsets). Our cottage sits on a hill surrounded by stately maples and open pastures. It sits at 2100 feet above sea level and overlooks a lake with a 75 mile view across the mountains of Vermont and into New York State (we see the highest mountain in NY). We are one mile from Star Lake which has a beach and boat access. The cottage is very private being surrounded by 180 acres of our land, and hundreds more acres of friends, family and the State of Vermont. We have our own trail network for hiking, snowshoeing and xc skiing, and there's lots of other hiking all around the town and local area. On our land across the road from the cottage there are four beaver ponds that string along a brook that runs into Star Lake.

Although private, this house is in the heart of the Vermont ski and tourist area so there are lots of restaurants, shops, and activities within 5 to 10 miles (Mt. Holly, Ludlow, Weston, etc.)

Family skiing, sledding, ice skating and star studded skies -- this new apartment above our garage on beautiful property in the Green Mountains has two bedrooms and a loft. Kingsley Mill Manor has most of January and February still available. Winter prices have dropped to $1,000 a week, $500 a weekend, with holiday weeks at $1,500. Christmas and New Years have been rented. Winter is incredible at the Manor. We have a small but fast sledding hill out the side door and sleds on the porch. The Middlebury Snow Bowl ski area is a short drive, Killington is 45 minutes.

starts out the back door and connects to the VAST snowmobile trail
system of Vermont. You can ride or ski the whole state from our back door.

Winter at Kingsley is a wonderland. A small but steep sledding hill is perfect for kids young and old. The trail literally out the back door connects to the VAST system of trails all over the state of Vermont and is superb for snowmobiles, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. A winter wonderland of trails awaits, and ours connects to Lake Dunmore two miles away.

Three downhill ski areas are within a short drive, including the Snow Bowl 15 minures, and Killington which is 45 minutes away.

This is the perfect place to hole up for a spring, summer, fall or winter week or weekend. Hiking, biking, and cross country skiing trails start literally at the back door. Lake Dunmore is less than 2 miles through the woods, or a five minute drive, and Middlebury College is less than 10 miles from the house. Here we have mountain views, a back yard fire pit, and a screened in private porch with a large propane grill. Pets are always welcome.

Kingsley Mill Manor sleeps 14 comfortably. Where can you vacation with your family or large group all under one roof in comfort in a real home? Here there is a real kitchen fully equiped, with tea and coffee waiting in the cupboards. No hotel can provide the family style comfort of this house that raised generations of families. Kingsley Mill Manor has privacy, yards, and parking space. It has warmth, a big family dining table, and rooms to spread out in. Imagine sunrises, bird song, waterfall music, and flowers all spring, summer, and fall.

Kingsley was the mill owner who built his house in the late 1800's. Foundations of his six mills are scattered on the property along with the only original mill still standing in Salisbury, Vermont. Just beyond the grass of the back yard flows a river with a private swimming hole. Upstream sings a waterfall visible from the back deck and audible even when windows are closed. Water music is the symphony of this house.

My wife and I - non partiers, early 30's mature - are looking for a small place to rent December 27, 28, 29 - in the vicinity of a ski slope in Vermont. We'll be spending Christmas in very Southern Vermont and thought we could spend a few days skiing in Vermont afterward. However we do not have 500$ a night to spend. So we thought we'd try this in reverse. We're open to our destination, as long as it's affordable and within proximity to skiing. Ideally if you can't use your condo or you have rented a place and need to "sublet" a few nights it would work out. So suggest a ski destination and let us know your rates!
