Responsibilities:<br>
Writing:<br>
•	Research and write articles for both print and online publications<br>
•	Research and write brief promotional project profiles of LEED projects (includes obtaining images and key performance data).<br>
•	Compile detailed case studies of green projects in DOE’s High Performance Buildings Database.<br>
•	Contribute to Blog with timely, engaging, informal pieces<br>
<br>
Editing:<br>
•	Edit articles written by others, variously for content and grammar.<br>
•	Copyedit to ensure consistency with style guide and catch typos.<br>
•	Edit technical reports and white papers.<br>
•	Package articles and other content with headlines, pull-quotes, and other devices to draw readers in.<br>
•	Edit detailed HPB database case studies submitted by others. Editorial tasks include: removing redundant content, correcting spelling and grammar, reorganizing content to fit the database template, checking that data is within reasonable ranges, and assigning green strategies based on narratives.<br>

Online Presentation<br>
•	Organize web pages to highlight most useful content and frame it effectively using a content management system.<br>

Qualifications:<br>
Can you explain the difference between a kilowatt and a kilowatt-hour? Know the difference between a hanging indent and a hanging participle? Do you have professional experience in taking a jumble of technical jargon and calculations and turning it into clear, concise Web content? Does a passion for sustainable building--and a low tolerance for hype--come along with those skills? <br>

Required Qualifications:<br>
•	3+ years of professional writing/editorial experience in educational contexts, including writing for Web (samples and client testimonial will be required)<br>
•	International and intercultural awareness and experience<br>
•	Excellent overall written and verbal communication skills<br>
•	Experience in editing and providing constructive feedback and direction to other writers<br>
•	Proven ability to manage workflow involving multiple projects and meet deadlines <br>
•	Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment<br>
•	Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications<br>

Desired Qualifications:<br>
•	Experience working with higher education and/or international programs and their audiences<br>
•	Personal study abroad experience<br>
•	Proficiency in a language other than English<br>
